Raya and the Last Dragon mural at Downtown Disney |
I made it back to Downtown Disney during COVID-19 for another update. Just how is Disney faring with its year-long shut down? Pretty well, if they've begun charging $10 for parking.
TIP: During high-peak attendance (namely weekends) you could end up waiting over 2 hours to enter the area even after parking. Schedule some much-needed time off and hit it on a weekday morning so you get there just before they open. Even so, you'll find yourself waiting in line soon after to enter most stores.
As you'll see, there are still special booths set up to take your temperature and check your bags, and they now have trained dogs as well.
If you heed my tips and get here right when it opens, it'll look gloriously empty.
The former Chadwick Boseman tribute has been replaced with a new mural for Disney's new Raya and the Last Dragon.

NEW Star Wars Trading Post

Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney |
First things first, get your place in line for the brand-new Star Wars Trading Post (virtual line, that is).
Simply scan the QR code and you'll receive a text when it's time to head over, like this:
You'll notice that this new outpost replaced the Rainforest Cafe and repurposed it (T_T). Traders will be able to purchase merch available at the Star Wars land inside the park, without the price of admission. You can even pose with Rey's cruiser for a unique photo op.

Once you are finally granted access, jump in line. You'll get a sneak peek at all that awaits inside, like these cute dolls of Rey, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, and Maz.
If you plan on buying anything like a $100+ lightsaber or some new rebel duds to keep undercover, you'll have to take a ticket for your turn.
Don't be shy
– come take a look around!
