Although the new movie Alice Through the Looking Glass debuted
in America months ago, it just premiered in Japan last weekend, and with it came
a ton of awesome products at the Disney Store! Alice in Wonderland is wildly
popular in Japan and sells well, so the movie should turn a good profit even if
it didn’t produce much fanfare in America. Following the color theme of the movie,
there are a ton of white and gold products that are just gorgeous.
Alice journeys back down the rabbit hole to the Disney store. |
My favorite is the new jewelry stand dress of the White Queen.
They also have a Queen
of Hearts version, which is no less stunning. They're both the priciest versions yet, however, at around 45 dollars.
As always, Disney makes
plenty of jewelry and accessories to spice up your everyday life.
Finally keep track of time with this Alice in Wonderland watch. You'll never have to be late for an important date again. |
They also have some fun
Cheshire themed products as well.
Cheshire's got you covered with this smartphone pouch. |
In Japan no one minds wearing a hat as a backpack. |
This one is a little
backpack, with Cheshire's head under the hat.
Disney is milking Alice
for all its worth, extending it even to red bears and Queen of Hearts costumes
in its UniBEARsity collection. The bears are a feature at every store in Japan
and take up at least a fourth of the store.
And as in any case,
tsum-tsums are not exempted.
The white rabbit is really cute! |
As part of the ongoing
Stitch summer campaign I couldn't resist these cute plushies! The one on the
right is for putting your Kleenex box in.
One of the many things
the Disney store in Japan does best is its wide selection of jewelry. I almost
always buy a piece of jewelry every time I go to the store! They have pretty
good deals such as two for 800 yen (about 8 dollars), letting you mix and match
earrings. I love the rings, although there’s a notorious problem in Japan of
women having such tiny slender fingers (should I say child-sized?) that I can
just barely squeeze into the largest size (13). But usually the rings at the
Disney store are one-size-fits-all, meaning you can adjust it to fit your fat
gaijin fingers. Whew.
The jewelry frequently features new products, while there are other goods you can count on always being there. These are just some of my favorites I've collected while in Japan – as you can see, I love rings, and Disney Japan makes tons of gorgeous rings.
This month Disney is featuring Winnie-the-Pooh jewelry! And these bracelets are new, already popular
with fans of the Ghibli store. Each pattern is for a different princess.
One bracelet for each princess! Can you guess them all? |
Remember that at-the-beach
summer line? You could now be rocking Donald Duck flip flops.
Disney proves
everything and literally everything in your life can be Disney-fied. Just look at these adorable paper clips in the
shape of your favorite character. I’ll never use a boring old regular paper
clip every again! Take all my money, please!
And last but not least,
who wouldn’t want even their nail clippers to be Disney-fied? They’ve got you
covered.
Because everything in your life can and should be Disney-fied. |
